NFL power rankings 2013, Week 12: Broncos, Seahawks vie for top spot

The consensus best team in the AFC is the Denver Broncos and the consensus best in the NFC is the Seattle Seahawks, but that’s where the agreement ends. The two one-loss teams are at the top of all the major power rankings, but the order is up for debate, although the Broncos were the ones that snagged more first-place rankings after Week 11.

Continuing their climb up the power rankings are the Carolina Panthers who earned a sixth consecutive victory with a close 24-20 victory over the Patriots on Monday night. Now in fifth on the composite power rankings, the Panthers have an opportunity to extend their win streak even further with upcoming games against the middling Dolphins and Buccaneers.

Also jumping up were the New York Giants, who cracked the top 20 after a Week 11 victory over the Packers. Just five weeks ago, the Giants split 30th and 31st rankings, but following a four-game win streak they are in the hunt for the NFC East crown and were ranked as highly as 16th in this week’s group of power rankings.

At the bottom of the rankings remain the Jaguars, who now have the worst record in the NFL after back-to-back victories propelled the Buccaneers up a few spots to 28th.

Here’s a full look at how the sports media outlets ranked the teams after Week 11:
