The 2024 F1 calendar was revealed by the series on July 5th 2023.
The 75th running of the world championship is due to be its longest season ever. Formula 1 has scheduled 24 races which will take place between March and December 2024.
The series should have reached that record number of races in 2023, however two rounds were cancelled due to reasons out of its control. These were the Chinese Grand Prix, which did not go ahead for the fourth year in a row due to the Covid-19 pandemic, and the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix in Italy, which was called off in 2023 due to serious flooding in the region.
The return of those two races means the 2024 schedule should feature two dozen rounds. While F1 looked at adding a race in South Africa in place of the Belgian Grand Prix, those plans did not go ahead.
One notable change on the 2024 F1 calendar compared to the previous season involves the rounds in Japan and Azerbaijan, which have swapped places.
