Starting out in Hollywood as a teen star always means your personal fashion retrospective is filled with some deeply aged, trend-driven style. So it is with Game of Thrones actress Sophie Turner, but given her sense of humor we’re certain she loves a cringe memory.
Turner has well and truly had a style evolution, starting out on red carpets for the hit HBO series wearing whatever was mass-trending at the time, and now a true one-to-watch at any event. These days, you’ll find the Louis Vuitton ambassador front row at Fashion Week and mastering an off-duty aesthetic that’s consistent and representative of her (and husband Joe Jonas‘) laid-back lifestyle.
Take a walk down memory lane with Sophie Turner’s best fashion looks.
2012
One of her first red carpet events, Turner posed with co-star Maisie Williams for a Game of Thrones launch in London. Honestly, minus the opaque tights and red suede heels, we could make this mini work again.
2013
Turner modeling everyone’s favorite early 2010s going-out fit – a leather jacket, floral fitted mini dress, and colorful heels.
2014
By 2014 the star was growing up and starting to wear designer fashion, like this Matthew Williamson Fall 2014 mini for a Comic Con event in San Diego.
Attending the Screen Actors Guild Awards the same year, Turner wore a minimalist bandeau and fishtail skirt set.
2015
By 2015 we began to see Sophie Turner finding her red carpet style. For the Emmy Awards, she chose a jumpsuit by Galvan, a Jimmy Choo box clutch and Giuseppe Zanotti heels.
2016
At the 2016 Academy Awards, Turner again chose Galvan, a sustainable gown from the label’s collaboration with Opening Ceremony that featured a built-in corset and crystal details.
Adopting her signature blend of tough accents to feminine outfits, Turner wore head-to-toe Louis Vuitton, teaming the fashion house’s Star Trail boots with a dress and coat from the Resort 2017 collection.
Debuting blonde hair at the Emmy Awards, Turner wore Valentino, with stylist Rebecca Corbin-Murray later telling Harper’s Bazaar that she “wanted to put her in something that would frame her beauty, something very pared down and elegant, sort of no fuss.” She also told the outlet that “Sophie really loves Mugler, Ralph Lauren, Balmain, simple clean vibes, nothing frou frou, really simple silhouettes — she goes for rich and elegant.”
2017
Attending the Louis Vuitton Paris Fashion Week Womenswear show in 2017, Turner wore the label’s statement white thigh-high boots with a leather mini that Sansa Stark would probably adore.
Sophie Turner was a guest at the Met Gala 2017 event, Rei Kawakubo/Comme des Garcons: Art of the In-Between, wearing Louis Vuitton. While she was already dating Joe Jonas, the couple did not walk the carpet together, as Jonas was a guest of H&M and spent the time elsewhere.
For the British Academy Film Awards, Turner wore an iridescent gown by – who else? – Louis Vuitton.
2018
By 2018, Turner was being snapped by paparazzi and we started to get a look at her street style. Often favoring worn-in jeans, this look — faded denim, trainers, a tee and casual jacket — is a regular theme for the star.
In contrast, Sophie Turner knows how to adapt her style for fashion events, and began to be a regular on front rows at Fashion Month. Here, she attended the Louis Vuitton Paris Fashion Week Womenswear show in the label’s red leather coat, patent boots and a studded belt.
Several months later the actress once again attended a Louis Vuitton event, this time the fashion house’s Cruise Collection.
2019
2019 was a year where Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas attended most events arm-in-arm, and showed off their couple style. Here, they walk the Roc Nation red (beige) carpet, Turner in Victoria Beckham.
For the 2019 Vanity Fair Oscar Party, Turner once again chose Louis Vuitton, a glimmering gold sequinned gown that meshed well with Jonas’ white suit.
Turner and Jonas’ first Met Gala together was a stand-out – for Camp: Notes on Fashion, the couple wore Louis Vuitton, wearing matching geometric prints. Turner wore a sequin jumpsuit by the fashion house, with Jonas in a turtleneck and black trousers.
2020
With her cascading blonde mane and statuesque figure, it was only a matter of time before Sophie Turner gave Barbiecore a whirl. Here for the SAG Awards in 2020, she wore Louis Vuitton – an incredible corset gown with an ’80s-style belt.
Together for the Grammy Awards, Turner wore another Louis Vuitton fit, this time from the Spring/Summer 2020 show.
2021
Out in LA in 2021, Turner wore a set by Charlotte Knowles with Nicole Saldana sandals, color-coordinating with husband Joe Jonas who was wearing a Marni set in warm brown.
2022
Tuner’s pregnancy style is so laid-back, it’s often just a hoodie and leggings. However, in February 2022 the star stepped out in this seriously sweet knit mini by Finders Keepers.
For the Louis Vuitton 2022 Womenswear show in Paris, Turner embraced her gothic side in this velvet coat paired with a leather midi skirt.
Another year, another Met Gala couple appearance – for In America: An Anthology Of Fashion, Turner wore Louis Vuitton once again, accessorizing with her baby bump.
2023
Turner’s 2023 curtain bangs are what ’70s dreams are made of, and pairing them with this bejeweled gown by Louis Vuitton turned her into a ’70s Hollywood starlet.
Once again embracing a gothic aesthetic, this time for the Vanity Fair Oscar Party, Sophie Turner shimmered in a Louis Vuitton cape and gown that featured sequins on sequins.
