The Garden Club of Charleston House & Garden Tour 2024

Join us on Thursday, March 21st, in the garden of the Confederate Home & College from 5:00 to 7:00 PM for our ever-popular Preview Party. Then, on Friday, March 22nd, and Saturday, March 23rd, from 1:00 to 5:00 PM, you will tour some of Charleston’s most beautiful and historic private homes and gardens. Maps and instructions will be sent by e-mail a few days before the tour begins, or you may pick up a copy at the Confederate Home & College Garden, 23 Chalmers Street, at the Preview Party, or after 12:00 noon on each day of the tour. On the day of the tour, please be prepared to show your printed or e-ticket and pick up a wristband for entry into each property on tour. Finally, stop by the garden of the Confederate Home & College during or after the tour, where we will have our garden club’s famous tea punch and light refreshments for your enjoyment.

FAQs

What should I wear? Please wear comfortable clothing and walking shoes! No high-heeled or kitten-heeled shoes allowed inside these historic homes. Dress for the Preview Party in the garden is “garden chic!”

How many homes and gardens are on the tour? Typically, we have six to eight different properties on each day’s tour.

Are the homes and gardens different on each day of the tour? Yes, the homes and gardens on Friday’s tour are different from those on tour Saturday.

What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?

Information about parking and pedi-cabs will be included with the maps and other information which will be sent to you via e-mail a day or two before the date of the tour.

What can I bring into the event?

Please wear comfortable shoes, no high-heeled or kitten-heeled shoes allowed inside these historic homes. No photography allowed. There is no handicap accessibility at these private homes. Please do not bring food or drink inside the homes on tour.

What’s the refund policy?

Refunds are given up to 7 days before the start of each day’s event. Please note, tickets are non-transferable unless authorized by the organizer.

If I am unable to attend, may I give or sell my ticket to someone else?

If you are unable to attend the tour and do not want a refund but prefer to give or sell your ticket to someone else, please contact the organizer to make the transfer so that the names on the check-in list are accurate.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

Please come by the Confederate Home Garden, 23 Chalmers Street, and show either your printed ticket or your e-ticket on your mobile device, and pick up a wristband for entrance to each home or garden on tour.

When will I receive a map of the homes and gardens on tour?

In an effort to protect the privacy of those whose homes and gardens are on tour, maps and complete instructions about the tour will be sent to ticket buyers via e-mail a day or two before the start of the tour. Copies of maps will also be available on Thursday evening, March 21st, at the Preview Party at the Women’s Confederate Home Garden, 23 Chalmers Street, or on Friday, March 22nd, and Saturday, March 23rd, after 12:00 noon each day. Please do not arrive at the Women’s Confederate Home before noon on Friday or Saturday.

Are restrooms available for the public? Restrooms are available at the Confederate Home & College Garden as well as at other locations along the tour route. The location of the public restrooms will be noted on the tour map.
