German Mayor accidentally spills the secret that AC/DC are touring Munich in June 2024, claiming that he “didn’t know it was supposed to be a secret”.
AC/DC fans are buzzing with excitement as speculation mounts about a potential European tour in 2024. The excitement comes after the German mayor of Munich accidentally revealed that the rock veterans plan to perform in the city next summer. Dieter Reiter let slip during a city council meeting that AC/DC would be holding a concert at Munich’s Olympic Stadium on June 12, 2024. However, the band has yet to officially confirm the show.

When did AC/DC stop touring?
If the Munich concert does happen, it will be AC/DC’s first performance in Europe since their 2016 show at Dusseldorf’s Espirit Arena. It will also mark their first concert since their comeback at the Power Trip festival in Indio, California in October. The band closed out the second night of the festival with a massive 24-song set, featuring Brian Johnson and Cliff Williams returning to the lineup, and the show received rave reviews.
The accidental leak from the mayor has fueled speculation among fans that the Munich concert is part of a larger European tour. Many are hoping that the tour will include stops in the UK as well. However, as of now, AC/DC has not announced any plans for live shows in Europe for 2024.
The band have not announced anything yet and are continually reminiscing of previous albums and tours on their Instagram account.
If the tour does come to fruition, it is expected that Matt Laug will be on drumming duties for the live shows. The 55-year-old American drummer, who has previously worked with the likes of Alice Cooper and Slash’s Snakepit, stepped in for the Power Trip festival. AC/DC has not provided any explanation for the absence of their longtime drummer, Phil Rudd, who rejoined the band for their 2020 comeback album ‘Power Up.’
Fans are eager to experience big hits like ‘Highway to Hell’ live again after a long 7 year wait since their last tour.
In addition to the tour speculation, fans have launched a campaign to propel AC/DC to number one on the charts for Christmas 2023. The campaign is in celebration of the band’s 50th anniversary and follows a similar effort back in 2013 for their 40th year. AC/DC remains an iconic and beloved band, and fans eagerly await any official announcements regarding their future plans.
