It’s been pouring heavens at the TPC Sawgrass for the past two days. Hence, not much golf has been played in the first two rounds of the Players Championship. But while fans remain disappointed with the loss of play, golf tv comes to their aid. Taking to Twitter, they released a video of Tiger, where he reveals why he never carries an umbrella with him.
Tiger Woods on using umbrellas and his father’s advice
Rainy or damp conditions not only pose a problem for the golf course but for the professionals as well. When it is pouring down on the course, we see players with all sorts of protective gear, which includes rain jackets and umbrellas. However, Tiger has a slightly different take on using the same on a cloudy morning.

The 15-time major championship winner recently revealed the reason behind not using an umbrella during rainy conditions.

Woods, in an interview with GolfTV, spoke about why he does not like to use an umbrella. He said, “Personally, if you ever see me under an umbrella, you know it must be hosing down, right. And that’s just because of I’ve always been very sensitive about the feel of carry an umbrella.”
He added, “I didn’t like to play with a rain jacket on….Pops used to say ‘once you’re wet you’re wet deal with it. You only get wet once.’ But I used to say, ‘well there’s different degrees right I mean you just get just a little bit drop or you get soaked.’ He says ‘no.’ Okay, that’s why you’re Special Forces right? So you know just that mentality.”
“And then eventually if you look at my career I’ve really haven’t you know wearing a rain jacket or use an umbrella that often.”
Woods’ 82nd PGA Tout title
Tiger won his 82nd PGA Tour title back in 2019. He won the ZOZO Championship in 2019 with an overall score of 19-under-par. Woods won the event with a comfortable three shots advantage. His win at ZOZO helped him equal Sam Snead’s records for most PGA Tour wins, 82. The runner-up of the event was the local boy, Hideki Matsuyama.
