BIOGRAPHY

Khalil Mack was born on February 22nd, 1991, in Fort Pierce, Florida. He is a linebacker in the NFL.

He attended Westwood High School where he played as a quarterback before switching to linebacker. Mack was named First-Team All-Area, Third-Team All-State, and helped lead his team to the district title as a senior, despite only playing two years. He recorded 140 tackles with nine sacks, three forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries. He received a scholarship from the State University of New York at Buffalo to play Division I Football.

Mack played four years at Buffalo from 2010 to 2013 where he started in all 48 games. He totaled 327 tackles, 185 of which were solo and recorded 28.5 sacks. He also logged 75 tackles for loss, 16 forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries, four interceptions, defended 21 passes and 31 quarterback pressures. Mack holds the all-time NCAA record for forced fumbles and is also tied for career tackles for loss. He was a three-time First-Team All-MAC selection, a First-Team All-American and named MAC Defensive Player of the Year in 2013.

Khalil Mack was selected in the first round with the fifth overall pick by the Oakland Raiders in the 2014 NFL Draft. He was named to the PFWA All-Rookie Team in his first year after recording 76 total tackles, four sacks, and one forced fumble. On September 1st, 2018, following Mack’s holdout through the entire preseason, the Raiders traded him to the Chicago Bears. Shortly after the trade, Mack signed a six-year deal worth $141 million featuring $90 million guaranteed, becoming the highest-paid defender in NFL history. For his career, he has totaled 351 combined tackles, 268 solo tackles, 53 sacks, two interceptions, and two touchdowns. Mack is a three-time First-Team All-Pro and four-time Pro Bowler. In 2015, he became the second First-Team All-Pro in NFL history to be selected by the Associated Press for two positions, defensive end and outside linebacker, in the same season. The only other player to so was Lawrence Taylor, 1983. He was named NFL Defensive Player of the Year in 2016 and is a two-time Butkus Award Winner. Mack is the leader of The Chicago Bears’ relentless defense and arguably the best overall defender in the NFL.

In 2023, Khalil Mack was selected to his 7th Pro Bowl.
