American Express Offers Perks For Cardholders At The U.S. Open

Bag Check Discount

All attendees of the Open are required to go through a security screening process, and any bags you bring with you are subject to a search. This year, attendees may only bring in one bag no larger than 12 by 12 by 16 inches. If you bring an oversized or additional bag, you will be directed to store it in a bag storage facility located outside the East Gate or the South Gate entrances.

Storing bags in these facilities does come with a charge. However, Amex cardholders save $5 on this charge per card.

Cash-Back Offer

Over the course of the U.S. Open, Amex is offering a one-time $10 statement credit when you make purchases of $100 or more at participating on-site merchants between August 28 and September 10, 2023. Unlike other Amex Offers, this perk does not require activation before you can use it. All you have to do to enroll is tap or swipe your Amex card at any American Express location on the grounds. Enrollees will receive an email confirmation with the last five digits of the card that has been enrolled in the offer.

Card members will receive the statement credit on their billing statement within 90 days after the offer end date provided that American Express receives information from the merchant about your qualifying purchase. However, the statement credit may be reversed if the qualifying purchase is returned or canceled. Also unlike Amex Offers, the credit is limited to each individual Amex card, so you can maximize this benefit by enrolling into it on multiple Amex cards if you anticipate your spending exceeding $200 over the course of the tournament.

American Express Radios

Cardholders at the U.S. Open will have access to American Express Radios. These earpiece radios will provide you with ESPN broadcast and live U.S. Open updates.

The earpiece radios are limited to one per card, and are available only while supplies last.

Member Collectibles

Amex is allowing you the opportunity to remember your experience at the U.S. Open by claiming a free digital collectible at the Amex Fan Experience.

Who doesn’t love free stuff? Make sure to stop by the Amex Fan Experience to shop around for other collectibles and claim your free digital collectible.

American Express Shop

Throughout the duration of the U.S. Open, Amex will also be hosting an exclusive store for all card members called the American Express Shop. Located in the South Plaza, the shop will feature small business restaurants and food vendors from around New York City that Amex has partnered with.

American Express Card Member Lounge

Arguably one of the most exciting perks Amex is offering for the U.S. Open is lounge access for all card members. Located on the second floor of the U.S. Open American Express Fan Experience at the East Gate, this is the perfect spot to take a break from the crowds between matches.

Any Amex card member can access the lounge by presenting their card in person, and can bring up to two guests into the lounge. Access is provided on a first come, first-served basis subject to capacity. The lounge features air conditioning, phone charging stations, and free snacks and drinks.

Centurion Lounge

Another option exclusive to cardholders of The Platinum Card® from American Express (terms apply) and the Centurion® Card from American Express* is the Centurion Lounge. Located on the second floor of Louis Armstrong Stadium, the lounge features travel-themed activities, curated dishes by Michael Solomonov and Cedric Vongerichten and curated cocktail and wine offerings.

Since space is limited, card members must make a reservation through Resy to secure a spot. Centurion members can make reservations for up to four people, while Platinum members are limited to making reservations for up to two people.

Amex Platinum cardholders and Centurion members who are not able to make a reservation in time can visit the Centurion Lounge in person to be added to the waitlist.
