Photocards, lightsticks and … tumblers? Yes, tumblers are the newest addition to the list of essential merch for Blackpink fans. The K-pop powerhouse collaborated with Starbucks for 16 (!) limited edition items that fans could collect starting July 25. How you like that? “We really like Starbucks,” Rosé said in a YouTube video where the girls unveiled the Turn Up Your Summer collection.

The collab will be available until supplies last. It is exclusive to the Asia Pacific region including Korea, Singapore, Thailand and the Philippines (yay!). We’ve been obsessed with the Blackpink Rhinestone Tumbler (P6,795) since we saw it at the preview held at Starbucks Macapagal earlier this week. The sleek and fancy stainless steel tumbler is dance goddess Lisa’s pick.

In the video, she pretended to use it as a microphone and sang “Blackpink in your area.” The tumbler glitters when lights hit it and it comes with a black and pink box that can be used to display it. The blinged-up tumbler is the heaviest among the pieces in the collection because of the materials used to make it.

Black and pink

Queen of beauty Jisoo chose the Blackpink Doodle Pink Tumbler (P2,595), an unexpected choice, she said. “I know why you chose that! Because it’s the biggest and you can put a lot of water,” said Jennie. Jisoo’s tumbler has doodles underneath the cover of studs and comes with a shimmering pink finish. It comes with a black straw and can hold cold drinks up to 24 ounces.

This has a black version that comes with a pink straw. Mermaid Rosé chose the Blackpink Texa Siren Tumbler (P1,575) which Lisa originally wanted to pick as well. “I really like the design,” said Rosé. The tumbler could hold 15.5 oz of hot and cold beverages. It is pretty and utilitarian. Like the ceramic mug, the collab logo is embossed at the bottom.

Standouts

“It’s amazing that it’s eco-friendly,” Jisoo told Rosé. YG Entertainment’s secret weapon Jennie picked the Blackpink Ceramic Siren Mug. The black mug has a smooth finish and the words “Blackpink + Starbucks” can be found below the iconic Starbucks siren. The handle is pink and the inside has the same shade.

Jennie loved the surprise pop of color of the lining. The mug is a classy standout in the collection. “I want to buy this and use it to make tea at home,” said Jennie. “I want to change all the cups in my house to this. I’d like to serve with this cup whenever guests come over.”

Our pick

Super’s picks are the Blackpink Doodle Mug (P1,395) and Blackpink Doodle Water bottle (P2,745). The mug has the hit songs “Lovesick Girls,” “Pink Venom” and “How You Like That” printed on it while you can read the titles “Boombayah,” “Ice Cream,” “Whistle” and “Forever Young” on the water bottle. The doodles are actually based on the signatures of the girls. You can spot Jennie’s cursive “J,” Jisoo’s arrow-pierced heart, Rosé’s long-stemmed flower and Lisa’s star along with coffee plant graphics in the background.

Turn Up Your Summer offering also includes a Passport Holder (P1,925), Tote Bag (P1,895) and Gradient Yoga Mat (P4,295). They also have a Key Chain (P1,395) that comes with the following charms: passport holder, apron, tote bag, Blackpink logo and Starbucks siren. If your budget is limited and you still want to have a piece from the collection, Starbucks offers the Strawberry Choco Cream Frappuccino + Reusable Cup bundle. It comes only in the grande size and is priced at P475. It has pink whipped cream topped with BP’s chocolate heart-shaped logo.

  Sure Thing
Dream come true

In the YouTube video, the girls clapped when they saw the frappe that they had inspired. “Isn’t this a childhood dream come true?” asked Jennie. They brought their glasses together for a toast. Jisoo said, “Usually frappuccino has milk in it but this one is oat milk-based.”

“It’s is so good,” Lisa said. We tried it and we agree. It looks decadent but is actually not too sweet. It’s creamy and the chocolate curls give it a nice crunch. The reusable cup comes with a dome lid and straw.

Char Vilchez, the brand’s marketing and global responsibility manager, said that this is the first time for Starbucks Philippines to carry merch from a K-pop group. Previous collaborations of the global brand were available only overseas.

Here’s a Super tip: Make sure to grab the Blackpink cards to pay for the merch you will buy. Each card can be activated for P1,500 and you can keep it as an additional souvenir.
