Who Is Celine Dion?
Celine Dion is a Canadian singer who is famous around the world. She first became famous for her French-language albums and quickly became a local star. But when she won the 1988 Eurovision Song Contest, Dion became an international name. Her hits include The Power of Love, It’s All Coming Back to Me Now, and the Titanic hit song, My Heart Will Go On.
She is considered to be one of the most influential pop stars of all time. She was crowned Billboard’s ‘Queen of Adult Contemporary’ and was the 2nd best-selling female artist in the US for a time. She’s also sold more records than any other Canadian artist, having sold more than 200 million around the world.
Who Is Celine Dion’s Husband?
Celine Dion was married to Rene Angelil from 1994 until Angelil’s death in 2016. He was her first and only known relationship. Rene was actually Dion’s manager – in 1980, Dion’s brother sent one of Celine’s demos to Angelil, and it allegedly moved him to tears.
Because of her and her husband’s age difference, the relationship garnered a lot of criticism. Dion was only 12 when she and the 36-year-old twice-divorced Angelil met. The younger Celine fell in love with Angelil, but their relationship didn’t start until Dion won Eurovision at 20 years old.
The two got engaged in 1993 and married a year later. The husband and wife duo also renewed their vows in 2000. Dion had trouble conceiving, and the couple decided to undergo in-vitro fertilisation (IVF) to have kids.
Unfortunately, Angelil died from throat cancer in 2016. Celine Dion and her kids attended the funeral. Their eldest son, Rene-Charles, gave the eulogy. He was just a few days away from turning 15.

Dion actually went on hiatus in 2000 because she wanted to start a family with Angelil. After two surgeries and several months, Rene-Charles was born.
It was rumoured that Rene-Charles was one of the victims in the infamous Las Vegas shooting, but thankfully, the boy was safe.
Like his mother, Rene Charles is also a singer. However, the two have yet to do a duet together. Maybe one day!
Eddy Angelil & Nelson Angelil
Birthday: October 23, 2010 (12 years old)
After six IVF treatments, Dion and her spouse welcomed twins Eddy and Nelson into the world. Eddy was named after Eddy Marnay, the French songwriter. Nelson was named after Nelson Mandela. Despite being only nine years old, the twins are bilingual – they speak both French and English.

Anne-Marie is married to Canadian musician Marc Dupre. He actually has a duet with his stepmum-in-law called “Tout pres du bonheur” – they’ve performed the song together at live shows.
What’s Next?
Although Celine Dion and her spouse have had a controversial relationship, their union resulted in three amazing kids who really take after their mum. Rene-Charles is already displaying some musical talent, and time will tell if the twins will follow suit.
