4 adds and 3 drops in fantasy football for Week 16

Week 16 is here, which for many fantasy leagues around America means fantasy football championships are here. It has been a long road this year, and it has been about as wild as many would’ve expected coming into the season, but if you’re fortunate enough to be playing in your league’s championship game then congratulations! Hope these adds and drops help get you over the proverbial hill.

Adds

Salvon Ahmed, RB, Dolphins: Ahmed got an opportunity with Myles Gaskin out on the COVID-19/Reserved list, and he managed a 100-yard rushing outing. He was Miami’s first 100-yard rusher since 2018, so even if Gaskins returns next week, Ahmed should still see a significant role against a great matchup with the Raiders.

Emmanuel Sanders, WR, Saints: Michael Thomas won’t be playing the rest of the regular season, which gives Sanders a great chance in Week 16 with Drew Brees throwing him the ball against the Vikings poor pass defense. He should at the very least be a great plug and play in the flex position for your championship game.

Jalen Hurts, QB, Eagles: This is a very high risk high reward play here. You shouldn’t be dropping someone like Patrick Mahomes to play Hurts, but Hurts just had an incredible outing with over 400 yards and four touchdowns (including 68 rushing yards and one of those touchdowns coming on the ground). It is hard to pass that up when he is about to take on the Cowboys defense that has been very kind to opposing quarterbacks this season.

Logan Thomas, TE, Washington Football Team: Thomas has been solid through a tough stretch. He has had at least 10 points in his past four games, and two of those games he has topped 20 points. He will now be facing the Panthers who are a top 10 matchup, and he is fresh off a game where Dwayne Haskins threw him the ball 15 times for 13 catches and over 100 yards.

Drops

Jamaal Williams, RB, Packers: Williams has had less than six fantasy points in his past three games. Two of those games came against the Lions and Panthers who are top 10 matchups for running backs. It seems like the Packers are content to throw the ball, which doesn’t benefit fantasy teams paying Williams.

Darrell Henderson Jr., RB, Rams: He has a combined four touches the past two weeks. The Rams will have a decent matchup with the Seahawks next week, but it is hard to believe that all of the sudden he will be getting the amount of carries necessary to be a viable fantasy option in Los Angeles’ ever changing backfield.

Taysom Hill, QB, Saints: Many fantasy owners took advantage of having Hill slotted as a tight end when he was initially named the starting quarterback for the Saints. However, now that Brees has returned to starting it is safe to say that Hill will be a touchdown dependent player, that depending on your league, you’ll have to play in the quarterback position. That just isn’t a good spot to be playing players with such a low floor in.
