Ezekiel Elliott is a running back for the Dallas Cowboys, but anyone with the athleticism to become a star in the NFL at any position likely has experience playing on both sides of the ball. Most high school stars moonlight on the other side of the field, so Elliott knows how to lay the smackdown when the opportunity presents itself. That is exactly what happened in a charity flag football game on Sunday. At an event called Huncho Day, which was created by rapper Quavo according to K.D. Drummond of Cowboys Wire, a flag football game consisting of several NFL stars and other celebrities took place. Even if he is a running back, Elliott is a football player. Rapper 21 Savage, as this video from TMZ proves, is not. Elliott sent him flying on this hit.

Elliott clearly lays back a bit, but he still gives the rapper quite a ride on the hit. Of course, hits are not supposed to take place in a flag football game, but Elliott is a competitor and when he wants to get a stop, he is going to do whatever it takes to get that stop. The Cowboys could use a linebacker next season with Anthony Hitchens signing with the Kansas City Chiefs. Maybe Elliott is up for the job.

They also need a wide receiver, and Elliott showed off his talents in that area as well. He caught the game winning touchdown for Julio Jones’ team and proceeded to celebrate afterwards with something out of another sport.

Elliott seems to do everything in this game except play running back. The lesson here could be that he contains multitudes, and that pigeonholing him as a runner is shortsighted. Or, more likely, we can just chalk it up to Elliott being one of the most athletic human beings on the planet and when you put that kind of talent against non-athletes in a relaxed charity game, he’ll be able to do whatever he wants. He wasn’t even the only player to show off a different skillset in the game. Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Mohamed Sanu starred at quarterback, the position he played in high school.

The event was meant to raise money for Berkmar High School’s football team, where Quavo went to school. When Elliott, Jones and that entire host of stars on hand, they no doubt raised a ton of money. That they also happened to put on a show in doing it is just a bonus.
