Just week’s after finishing up the 2014 season, projections for next year’s games, teams and even Heisman race are already floating around the internet. The Buckeyes should be excited to see four familiar faces high-up on the chart of potential winners, claiming spots No. 1, 10, 11 and 12.

After an electrifying performance during the post-season, and Buckeye Nation screaming “Feed Zeke!”, the early front-runner for next year’s Heisman Trophy is running-back Ezekiel Elliott. With odds starting at 6:1 and a season total of 1,878 rushing yards, he could be the next player at his position from Ohio State emulating the famous Heisman pose. Elliott finished the 2014 season with three consecutive games with over 200 rushing yards; if he is able to maintain this level of production the Heisman voters could all but hand him the trophy midseason.

The oddsmakers see the three Ohio State quarterbacks as equally as most fans and analysts; depending on who ends up winning the starting spot in 2015, Cardale Jones, J.T. Barrett and Braxton Miller have 14:1, 16:1 and 18:1 winning odds respectively. Jones has the slight edge over his predecessors, and their ability to stay healthy will have a big impact on the season. One of the Buckeye quarterbacks could easily claim stake on the trophy if the winning starter is able to compete the entire season and OSU has the kind of season their fans hope they do.

Aside from the quarterback and cornerback race, it looks like Ohio State will also have a Heisman race on its hands; some problems just aren’t worth complaining about.
