GATE 2024 Eligibility Criteria

The GATE 2024 eligibility criteria are as follows:

  • Educational qualification: Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/ Technology/ Architecture/ Science/ Commerce/ Arts from a recognized university or institute.
  • Year of study: Candidates who are currently studying in the 3rd or higher years of any undergraduate degree program or who have already graduated in any government approved degree program in Engineering/ Technology/ Architecture/ Science/ Commerce/ Arts are eligible to appear for GATE 2024.
  • Nationality: Candidates must be Indian nationals or nationals of other countries with valid Indian visas.

There is no minimum percentage criteria for appearing in the GATE 2024 exam.

Candidates who have obtained/are pursuing their qualifying degree from countries other than India must ensure that those examinations are approved by MoE/AICTE/UGC/ UPSC as being equivalent to B.E./ B. Tech./ B. Arch./ B. Planning, etc.

Candidates who are appearing for the final year of their qualifying degree in 2024 can also apply for GATE 2024. However, they must provide their final year marksheet (of any one semester) at the time of admission.

GATE Scorecard 2024

The GATE scorecard is an important document for candidates who are applying for admission to M.Tech programs or for jobs in PSUs. Candidates should keep the scorecard safe and preserve it for future reference.

The GATE 2024 scorecard will be available online on the GATE website. The scorecard will contain the following information:

The GATE scorecard will be available for download from April 8, 2024. Candidates can use their GATE registration number and password to download the scorecard.

GATE Counselling 2024

GATE 2024 counselling will be conducted through the Common Offer Acceptance Portal (COAP). The COAP is a web-based platform that allows GATE qualified candidates to apply for admission to M.Tech programs in IITs, NITs, IIITs, and other top engineering institutes in India.

The COAP 2024 counselling process will begin in December 2023. Candidates who have qualified the GATE 2024 exam will be eligible to participate in the counselling process.
