Video gods of destruction ranked in power

The Dragon Ball series is one of the most legendary anime of all time, featuring a bevy of iconic moments, classic characters, and everything else along the same lines. After the end of Dragon Ball Z, fans desperately wanted a canon continuation of this series that would let the fighters of the series reach new heights of power. This led to the debut of Dragon Ball Super, which is considered by many to be a great entry in the illustrious series. The biggest changes brought about by this show were the introduction of both Gods of Destruction and multiple universes, which expanded the scope of the series to a whole new level.

Destroyer Gods are omnipotent beings with vast reserves of power, allowing them to take out any foe with little to no problems. The fact that Beerus never even went all out during his clash against Goku when he was introduced for the first time shows just how massive the difference between the two really is, and it’s clear that these Destroyer Gods are on an entirely different level of power that what fans have ever seen before in the Dragon Ball series.

Updated December 13, 2023, by Ritwik Mitra: Dragon Ball Super is a truly brilliant series that brings Goku and his friends back into the limelight once again. Featuring new transformations, enemies, characters, and battles, it’s easy to see why so many people loved the new additions made by the latest chapter in the Dragon Ball series. The Gods of Destruction introduced in the series are all memorable in their own right, even if players only get a glimpse of the sheer strength they wield.

12 Iwan

Universe 1

  • Debut Episode: “Even The Universes’ Gods Are Appalled?! The Lose-and-Perish Tournament of Power” (Episode 78)

Given the sheer number of new characters introduced during the Tournament of Power, it was only a given that not everyone would be able to spend enough time in the spotlight. As a result of this, Iwan’s character suffers quite a bit. It doesn’t help that his appearance doesn’t really convey a massive power level at all.

Audiences can assume that he’s the weakest God of Destruction based simply on how unimportant he is. There’s always a chance that he may display his strength in an upcoming arc, but the chances of this happening are slim to none.

11 Arak

Universe 5

  • Debut Episode: “Even The Universes’ Gods Are Appalled?! The Lose-and-Perish Tournament of Power” (Episode 78)

Aside from his hideous character design, there’s nothing all that remarkable about Arak. He just takes the role of another generic God of Destruction who doesn’t bring anything new to the table.

His sparring match might have been interesting, but this simple scene can’t really convey whether Arak is all that strong. As a result, his power ranking takes a hit. Fans can only hope that later episodes of Dragon Ball Super might shed some more light on this hideous character, but given the sheer number of new Gods introduced in the Tournament of Power arc, this seems unlikely.

10 Liquiir

Universe 8

  • Debut Episode: “Even The Universes’ Gods Are Appalled?! The Lose-and-Perish Tournament of Power” (Episode 78)

Most people would forget about Liquiir’s existence after the minor level of screen time he enjoys in the Tournament of Power. His generic design does him no favors and makes him one of the most boring Gods of Destruction on this list.

There’s nothing notable that can be said about this forgettable character. Suffice it to say, Liquiir’s presence is not worth mentioning in the events of Dragon Ball Super. Given how the manga’s story has progressed since the end of this anime, it’s likely that this character will become nothing more than a footnote in this great series.

9 Rumsshi

Universe 10

  • Debut Episode: “Even The Universes’ Gods Are Appalled?! The Lose-and-Perish Tournament of Power” (Episode 78)

Rumsshi certainly has one of the more striking character designs on the show. He is an intimidating figure who will waste no time in accomplishing his duties as the God of Destruction. That’s why it’s a shame that Rumsshi doesn’t really play a major role in Dragon Ball Super.

Just like the other Destroyer Gods that are introduced for the first time, Rumsshi ends up fading into obscurity as events unfold. That being said, he is known for having the strongest lungs in the Universe. However, lungs themselves aren’t enough to defeat an enemy, and it seems that his brawn doesn’t match up with this rather odd power.

8 Giin

Universe 12

  • Debut Episode: “Even The Universes’ Gods Are Appalled?! The Lose-and-Perish Tournament of Power” (Episode 78)

There’s no denying that Giin has a ton of potential as a strong God of Destruction. Unfortunately, his lack of screen time means that Giin doesn’t manage to fulfill this potential. Given how benevolent Giin appeared to be, it would’ve been intriguing to see a Destroyer God who actually valued human life. Unfortunately, his role in the Tournament of Power was nowhere near as prominent.

While his confidence is impressive, one thing that fans noticed about Giin is that he’s way more confident in the anime than in the manga. It’s a small change, but a notable one regardless, that hints towards the fact that he could just be a tad bit weaker in the manga than his iteration on the show.

7 Heles

Universe 2

  • Debut Episode: “Even The Universes’ Gods Are Appalled?! The Lose-and-Perish Tournament of Power” (Episode 78)

Heles is one of the most unique Gods of Destruction. Her character design makes her seem like a godly Cleopatra, which was probably a conscious decision. She’s one of the few Gods of Destruction who actually cares about her subjects, which is a rarity for any divine being in this profession.

While her Universe does put up a good fight, it ultimately succumbs to the might of some of the more powerful Universes in the series. However, Heles doesn’t let her final moments be ones of grief and regret. She bids farewell with a smile on her face!

6 Mule

Universe 3

  • Debut Episode: “Even The Universes’ Gods Are Appalled?! The Lose-and-Perish Tournament of Power” (Episode 78)

Mule is a pretty crafty God of Destruction. He knows when to use both his brains and brawn, making him a fearsome foe . The Universe he looked over ended up getting knocked out a fair way into the Tournament of Power. While he’s initially disappointed, he still says goodbye with his head held high.

He does look rather goofy as he talks from within his robot, Mosco, but that’s just a facade that hides his true strength. He’s an extremely smart Destroyer God and can definitely win a battle of wits against his brethren.

5 Quitela

Universe 4

  • Debut Episode: “Even The Universes’ Gods Are Appalled?! The Lose-and-Perish Tournament of Power” (Episode 78)

Quitela is one of the most annoying Gods of Destruction. He’s extremely crafty and doesn’t mind stooping as low as possible to get the job done.

The pathetic manner in which he reacted moments before his Erasure was proof enough of just how unlikable he is. That being said, his manipulative personality perfectly complements his massive power level.

4 Sidra

Universe 9

  • Debut Episode: “Even The Universes’ Gods Are Appalled?! The Lose-and-Perish Tournament of Power” (Episode 78)

Sidra is another strong God of Destruction who is highly intriguing. He seems to follow the rules and harbors great disdain for disrespectful people like Goku. It was only to be expected that Sidra would tastefully endure his demise. This is precisely what he does, with the God of Destruction letting out nary a peep before being Erased by Zeno.

That being said, props should be given to this god for harboring amazing defensive powers. While most people agree that a good defense makes for a great offense, the same might not apply in the godly realm that Sidra operates in.

3 Champa

Universe 6

  • Debut Episode: “I’m Here, Too! Training Commences on Beerus’ World” (Episode 18)

Aside from Beerus, Champa enjoys the most screen time as a strong God of Destruction. It helps that he’s closely related to Beerus and hates his brother with a passion as well.

Champa is an interesting God, clearly hiding massive power that can annihilate everyone with ease. While he might be the butt of many jokes in the series, that shouldn’t take away from his imposing personality.

Perhaps the only thing that takes away from this character is that he’s pretty much a beefier carbon copy of Beerus. This relegates him to more of a comedic role, which makes him seem less intimidating compared to the other Gods on this list.

2 Belmod

Universe 11

  • Debut Episode: “Even The Universes’ Gods Are Appalled?! The Lose-and-Perish Tournament of Power” (Episode 78)

Universe 11 is considered by everyone to be the strongest out of all the known Universes. So, it’s easy to see why the God of Destruction reigning over this universe is impressive in his own right.

Belmod’s character design is another striking aspect of this figure. He feels like a version of the Joker that was interpreted into the events of Dragon Ball Super, and he makes his presence known whenever he’s in the spotlight. He’s known for being quite smart and having tricky magic attacks that can be a pain to deal with. While the true extent of his power is yet to be seen, there’s no denying that Belmod can wipe the floor with most of the Gods of Destruction if he wishes it.

1 Beerus

Universe 7

  • Debut Episode: “A Peacetime Reward Who Gets the 100,000,000 Zeni?!” (Episode 1)

Given how impressive Beerus has been for someone who reigns over a weak Universe, it’s only fair to give this spot to him. He surprised everyone during the Destroyer God sparring session by showing how powerful he is. It’s clear that viewers haven’t seen everything that Beerus is capable of, although the chances that he’ll show this power are slim, given just how destructive he obviously is. It’s possible that the entire universe he’s reigning over would collapse if he decides to get serious!

His introduction is already the stuff of legends, and it seems that Beerus will continue to expand his amazing legacy. Only time will tell what new tricks he’ll get up to further down the line.
