Miley Cyrus emerged on the scene as a teen star and has been loved by many loyal fans all over the world ever since. Even though she went through tough times, she stayed strong and bounced back better. She was born Destiny Hope Cyrus on November 23, 1992, in Tennessee. Her parents are actress Leticia ‘Tish’ Jean Cyrus and country singer Billy Ray Cyrus, and she has her siblings Braison and Noah, also half-siblings Brandi and Trace. When she was 16, Cyrus legally changed her name to Miley Ray Cyrus, derived from her childhood nickname ‘Smiley,’ because she often smiled when she was a baby. She inherited her parents’ interest in both singing and acting, and this eventually drove her to start her career.

She debuted in 2006 by playing the lead role in the Disney Channel’s television series “Hannah Montana.” The show became a huge success, ended up as one of the highest-rated series, and became Cyrus’s breakthrough. She earned the title ‘teen idol’ and began promoting alongside the franchise. The show’s soundtrack album became a commercial and global success, selling more than three million copies worldwide. This earned her a deal with Hollywood Records to release her own music. Her own debut album was released in 2007, in a two-disc package titled “Hannah Montana 2: Meet Miley Cyrus.” It has earned massive commercial success and sold millions of copies since its first release. She then started her first tour, the Best of Both Worlds Tour, in 2007. This led to the theatrical release of “Hannah Montana & Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert” in 3D. Upon entering 2010, Cyrus tried to cultivate a more mature image. One of them was through releasing her third studio album, “Can’t Be Tamed,” which was deemed controversial due to the lyrics and her live performances. This image shift considerably affected her career. She then came back in 2013 with the single ‘We Can’t Stop’ and her fourth album, “Bangerz,” which has much more of a hip-hop influence. She has released a few more albums since then: the experimental “Miley Cyrus & Her Dead Petz” (2015), the country-pop “Younger Now” (2017), and the rock-infused “Plastic Hearts” (2020).

Growing up under the spotlight, Cyrus’s private life has always been the center of the public’s attention. She came out as pansexual when she was 14, declaring that she never wants to label herself, and she’s ready to love anyone that loves her for who she is. Her relationships have always gained considerable media attention, though the most notable was with actor Liam Hemsworth — whom she had dated since 2009 and had been in an on-again, off-again relationship since then. They got engaged first in 2012 and later during their reconciliation in 2016 before getting married in 2018. Their marriage lasted until 2019 when Cyrus announced their separation. Recently, she is said to be in a relationship with a rock band drummer, Maxx Morando.
