Jake Paul has claimed he is not opposed to travelling to Romania and sparring with Andrew Tate from the influencer’s Bucharest home where he is currently under house arrest.

Former kick-boxing world champion Tate was due to organise a fight this year before being arrested at the end of last year on suspicion of human trafficking, rape and forming a criminal gang to sexually exploit women. He was put behind bars for three months before being placed under house arrest in his plush mansion. He and his brother Tristan deny all charges.

Paul and Tate have previously squared up in Dubai on two occasions after some back-and-forth on social media that drew in Jake’s older brother Logan among other issues. But a fight between the pair has never materialised, with the American-born Brit instead offering a sparring session that they could release on social media.

“You know what we should do Jake? While you’re in your next training [camp] and you want some sparring, fly to Romania,” Tate said during a stream with Paul and Adin Ross last night. “We’ll spar, we’ll film it, and we’ll decide if we want to release it or not afterward. But, I have no problem… We can have a sparring match anytime.”

Paul appeared keen on the idea, but didn’t want to give away the footage, worth millions, to fans for free on social media. The likelihood of the pair fighting is slim given Tate’s history of injuries from his kick-boxing days, but they are a similar size and could make for an entertaining sparring video.

“I’m down for that but we can’t release it for free,” Paul responded. “That’s like giving the people what they want for nothing, that’s kind of crazy.” Tate agreed with the sentiment, adding: “Jake made an important point, when it comes to these fights the people want to see it and that’s very valuable.

“So it’s not as easy as people think to just fight. There’s a whole bunch of promotion behind it and things must be done etc. If it was that easy then like I said Jake and I could spar of course but that video would be worth millions of dollars but we can’t throw it on Twitter for free because the whole world wants to see it. I mean, I’d be up for it but I understand Jake’s a professional fighter and when you’re a prize fighter you want a prize, right?”

Paul responded by insisting that he was interested in getting in the ring with Tate, adding: “Well we can still spar, that would be fun anyways and maybe we put little clips out, not the whole thing. Or give people a little teaser or something, I don’t know, we’ll figure it out.”

Tate then joked about his current house arrest, telling Paul that he “can’t leave the house” and that as a result he should “know where I am” because he’s “not going anywhere”.
