Kyler Murray just lost himself a Twitter follower – and it was one of his own teammates.

Chandler Jones, star pass rusher on the Arizona Cardinals, explained to reporters why he had to unfollow his quarterback on Tuesday.

“It’s actually funny that you bring up Kyler and social media,” Jones said. “Because I think just yesterday I had actually unfollowed him on Twitter. I had asked him to follow me back awhile ago, and he didn’t follow me back, so I just unfollowed him yesterday.”

Drama! Strife!

Pretty cold move by Murray. Perhaps he perused Jones’ feed, found it to be impertinent and decided to pass. However, the polite thing to do in this scenario would have been to follow Jones and then mute him if he got annoying or clogged the feed.

It doesn’t seem as if the social media slight will affect their relationship much.

“Kyler is great, he’s a hell of a player, I love him,” Jones said. “It’s good to watch him grow, so see him orchestrate the offense. His voice is getting louder and louder in the locker room, you can see that he’s grabbing a lot gf guys’ attention and that comes with time. It also comes with positive and great play. He’s been doing that. He’s been earning the respect from the guys.”

Jones was a mere drop in the bucket for Murray’s Twitter audience — he still has 333,000 followers for his @K1 handle. Just don’t expect one of his edge rushers to ever join the ranks again.

“He’s like a little brother to me, I always pick on him,” Jones said with a smile. “But I did unfollow him and I’m not following him back.”

The Cardinals are 11-5 and headed to the playoffs. Jones and Murray play on different sides of the ball so it’s not like something silly like this could be said to truly affect team chemistry, but it’s pretty amusing nonetheless.
