Fantasy QB Tiers and Streamers Week 7: Can Matt Ryan continue his hot stretch?

Fantasy QB Tiers and Streamers Week 7: Can Matt Ryan continue his hot stretch?

Quarterbacks on a bye this week include Dak Prescott, Kirk Cousins, Josh Allen, Justin Herbert, Trevor Lawrence, and Ben Roethlisberger. Personally, I feel attacked by the Week 7 #Byepocalypse. If one of those guys is your weekly starting quarterback on your fantasy football roster, you’re going to need a streamer. Let’s look at this week’s QB tiers plus three Week 7 QB streamers that might be available on the waiver wire for you to patch that hole this week.

Week 7 QB Streaming Options

If you’re looking for a Week 7 replacement at the QB position, here are three names that might be available as plug-and-play options for your fantasy roster.

Derek Carr (vs. Philadelphia Eagles)

Derek Carr is the QB14 through six weeks, and he’s second in the NFL (ahead of Patrick Mahomes) in passing yards with 1,945. Additionally, he’s leading the league in completions over 20 yards (32). The only thing holding him back from elite fantasy performances is his touchdown total, which currently sits at 10, compared to Mahomes’ 18, Tom Brady’s 17, and Matthew Stafford and Dak Prescott’s 16. If Carr is able to bump those up, he’ll be golden.

In Week 7, Carr gets an Eagles defense that has been middle of the back against QBs, allowing the 17th-most fantasy points per game to the position (19.2). With four of the top 10 QBs on a bye this week, Carr is a QB1 in our Week 7 rankings.

Matt Ryan (@ Miami Dolphins)

After a slow start, Matt Ryan has strung together three straight performances that fantasy managers can smile about. He completed an impressive 69.1% of his passes for 868 yards, 8 TDs, and 0 INTs between Weeks 3-5. Before Atlanta’s Week 6 bye, Ryan’s impressive outing led to a breakout for rookie TE Kyle Pitts, who caught 9 of 10 passes for 119 yards and a TD in Week 5.

  Robocalls

Falcons WR1 Calvin Ridley, who missed Week 5 while dealing with a personal issue, is coming back to practice this week. Atlanta will match up with a Dolphins defense that is surrendering the third-most fantasy points per game to QBs at 23.8. Ryan is a locked-in streamer this week.

Teddy Bridgewater (@ Cleveland Browns)

Teddy Two-Gloves had a brutal showing three weeks ago against the Baltimore Ravens, throwing for only 65 yards. Since then, he’s thrown for 622 yards and 5 TDs in two games. He’s been the overall QB12 over the last two weeks. We’ll just … um … ignore those 4 interceptions that go along with it.

Cleveland’s defense, for as good as they are, has been giving up a ton of fantasy points to quarterbacks this season — the fourth-most, actually. Given the slew of injuries the Browns are currently dealing with, including multiple players on defense, Bridgewater is an interesting streaming option during a thin Week 7.
