George Kittle has spent his entire NFL career so far with the San Francisco 49ers. His main quarterback for most of his time there has been Jimmy Garoppolo. At the height of their success as a duo, Kittle and Garoppolo helped the 49ers reach Super Bowl LIV, but they were defeated by the Kansas City Chiefs.

The Chiefs, like the 49ers, also have an excellent combination of quarterback Patrick Mahomes and tight end Travis Kelce to help drive their offensive production. Just about everyone around the NFL considers Kittle and Kelce to be the top two most talented tight ends in the entire league.

George Kittle once appeared on an episode of Cold as Balls with host Kevin Hart and acknowledged that he believed he and Travis Kelce were elite players at the position. He was asked which of the two was a better tight end, but Kittle declined to answer, saying they were both excellent.

Hart then asked Kittle if he was jealous that Travis Kelce had such a great quarterback, to which he responded:

Hart then pushed the question a bit further by asking Kittle if Mahomes was a better quarterback than Garoppolo. Kittle declined to give a straight answer, but his body language, along with his bold praise of Mahomes, indicated his opinion.

George Kittle sank into the ice bath, covering his mouth to avoid answering the question. Hart laughed at Kittle’s hilarious reaction. It was a good move by the tight end, as he didn’t want to throw Jimmy Garoppolo under the bus but also didn’t want to give a false answer.

George Kittle didn’t have to say Patrick Mahomes is better than Jimmy Garoppolo

Nobody needs George Kittle to give a straight answer on whether Jimmy Garoppolo or Patrick Mahomes is the better quarterback because it’s not even up for debate.

While Garoppolo has put together a solid career, Mahomes is off to the best start to his career of any quarterback in NFL history. Garoppolo is a good quarterback, but he’s not anywhere near the same level as Mahomes.

In just five years as a starting quarterback, Mahomes has already won two NFL MVP awards, two Super Bowl MVP awards, and two Super Bowl rings. Garoppolo has been a starting quarterback for six years and has not earned any of those accolades. While he did win two rings, they were with the New England Patriots as a backup for Tom Brady.
