The bye week for the Kansas City Chiefs has proved to be one of the most eventful times in the NFL in the 2023 season. First, there were rumors about Travis Kelce, who was suspected of traveling all the way to Buenos Aires for a Taylor Swift concert. Now, the spotlight is on Patrick Mahomes after he hosted one of the most influential galas in the NFL recently.

Apparently, Kelce missed the TS concert because he wanted to support Mahomes in his noble endeavor. Taylor Swift, after learning the news about the Gala, decided to contribute to it by donating some of her signed memorabilia to the 15 and Mahomies Foundation. It looks like, recently, he has touched even bigger heights of his career after hosting this charity event.

Patrick Mahomes’s unwavering zeal

Patrick Mahomes and the 15 Mahomies Foundation have received the 2023 Black College Football Hall of Fame Founders Award. This award comes as an expression of his unwavering and relentless support for the underprivileged children of society. Mahomes and his foundation have announced a multi-year partnership with the HBCU Legacy Bowl. Mahomes recently reposted a tweet from Black College Football.

The HBCU Legacy Bowl celebrates NFL draft-eligible players from historically black colleges and universities. These HBCU Legacy Bowl games will be held at Tulane University in New Orleans following the Super Bowl LVI, which is supposed to happen in the first half of February next year at the SoFi Stadium. The motto of his foundation is to nurture the youth and support them with resources. Mahomes started the foundation in 2019 and has shown constant engagement since then.

“I want to keep this thing going,” he says. “I want the 15 And The Mahomies Foundation to continue to grow nationwide, worldwide, whatever it is — and it takes people like y’all. And so, thank y’all for being here, and let’s keep it going. Let’s make it bigger and bigger and see where we can go. Thank y’all.”

Over the years, some of the most eminent personalities and Pro Football Hall of Famers like Walter Payton, Jerry Rice, and Michael Strahan have come out of an HBCU. Mahomes’ efforts will help the youth to make a better life and possibly give them a shot to make it to the NFL. It is not the first time that Mahomes has been recognized by the HBCU for his efforts.

The many accolades of Patrick Mahomes

Last year, he was given the distinction of honorary captain for the inaugural HBCU Legacy Bowl. This year, Brittany and Patrick Mahomes raised about $615,000 in grants from 19 different charitable organizations. Doug Williams, the former Super Bowl QB, gave his words of admiration to the Chiefs QB for his formidable efforts.

The Gala was the 4 edition that marked the success of the foundation and shows how far Mahomes has come in his career to be able to make such an impact on children’s lives at this young age. Hopefully, a lot of youth’s lives will turn around in a positive way, thanks to his valiant efforts.
