Taylor Swift's Eras Tour concerts broke attendance records at Nissan Stadium

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour concert series this weekend has been one of Nashville’s biggest events in recent history, breaking all-time records.

The massive crowd during Taylor Swift’s much-hyped Eras Tour performance Friday night could be heard miles away from Nissan Stadium, even at our FOX 17 News station.

Nissan Stadium reported record-breaking attendance both Friday and Saturday nights, with more than 70,000 concert-goers packing the arena.

And over 400,000 people hit Nashville this weekend, breaking even more records, largely because of Taylor’s performances.

“This will be a $50 to $100 million visitor spend weekend for Nashville,” Butch Spyridon, CEO of Nashville Convention and Visitors Corporation. “So, it might set a record in its own right.”

Big Time Boots on Broadway said between Taylor’s concert and Luke Combs’ performances last month, they saw larger profits than ever before.

“Our biggest day in the history was Luke Combs,” said Courtney McCormick, manager of Big Time Boots. “It was a couple several Saturdays ago, I believe back in April. It was the biggest day we had in the history of the company. We came. This came in a close second yesterday. It was a different type of crowd.”

Dedicated Swifties were seeking out a slightly different and more sparkly style.

“We had to make an emergency shipment on Saturday just to bring more glitter boots down here because we were running so low,” McCormick said. “I couldn’t even get them out of the box.”

Fans were extra BeJeweled for Taylor’s performance.

“They’re literally buying their outfit in Nashville, which I think is so important to us,” McCormick said.

Concert goers even lined up this weekend for a photo-op on a new bench dedicated to Taylor at Centennial Park.

Taylor Swift, who moved to Hendersonville when she was a teenager, has heartfelt ties to Nashville. She moved to Music City with her family so she could start her career, and she signed a record deal at only 14 years old.

“I think real big super fans came to this event solely because of that reason,” Big Time Boots manager said.
