Tiger Woods was involved in a single-car accident on Tuesday morning in California shortly after 10 a.m. ET. The car rolled over multiple times, reportedly causing the golf legend to suffer a shattered ankle and two leg fractures, one of which was compound.

L.A. County Sheriff Alex Villanueva said Woods was “lucky to be alive” after the crash.

According to Golf Digest’s Tiger Woods correspondent Daniel Rapaport, the golf star was in Los Angeles for a two-day shoot with Golf Digest and GOLFTV, where he was giving lessons to celebrities and actors.

To clarify: Tiger is in LA for a two-day shoot with Golf Digest and GOLFTV.Despite some speculation, he was not playing holes or hitting balls, but giving on-course lessons to celebrities. Tiger was in good spirits Monday. Did not arrive to course Tuesday.

ESPN’s Shelley Smith reported that Woods was on his way to meet Saints quarterback Drew Brees and Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert; reports indicate he was running late to the meeting, which reportedly was to take place on the same golf course where he instructed other celebrities and athletes Monday.

Actor and comedian David Spade on Monday tweeted a picture showing himself and Woods sitting in a golf cart, joking that it was he who gave a golf lesson to the 15-time major champion.

NBA star Dwyane Wade on Tuesday — before word of Woods’ accident had been reported — published two posts to Instagram showing him on the golf course with Woods on Monday.

“So, I told y’all I was about to do something amazing today and I got an opportunity — I say, the GOAT, he’s not comfortable with it — but an opportunity to come out here with this guy right here man,” Wade says in a video with a smiling Woods behind him. “Tiger, thank you for teaching me something.

“How good am I or how bad am I?” Wade asks.

“Ah, good?” says Woods while shaking his head no, laughing. Said Wade: “I’m not good.” They both agree he is getting better, however.
