Volkswagen has revealed the highly anticipated North American version of its 2024 new VW ID Buzz (new VW Electric Bus).

The US version’s badge will be different from the European version’s badge; The European version has two rows and a shorter wheelbase than the three-row version sold in the U.S.

The new VW ID Buzz will be available in multiple color variants along with a two-tone paint option.

While announcing VW ID Buzz officially, Volkswagen has said: “C’mon. There’s no gas. The ID. Buzz is electric. Who needs gas anyways, with this much going on? Like three rows, that offer six and seven seat configurations. You can fit an entire volleyball team inside. Now that’s spacious. And the style is rather eye-catching. Look at the two-tone paint. You’ll definitely never lose it in a parking lot. We could go on about our new bus, but we think you get the drift.”

VW ID Buzz (Electric Bus) Release Date

The VW ID Buzz will go on sale in the United States of America in June 2024.

Also, Volkswagen has confirmed that only the long-wheelbase passenger version of the VW ID Buzz will be sold in the U.S.

This is because Volkswagen believes that most Americans prefer the seating capacity, storage space, and battery capacity that the three-row version can offer.

VW ID Buzz(New VW Electric Bus) Price

VW is yet to officially reveal the pricing of the VW ID Buzz. However, current market pricing for the electric vehicle is expected to start around $40,000.

Volkswagen will announce the price at a later date. Along with this, the automaker has also said that since the ID.Buzz will be assembled outside of North America, so its purchase will not qualify for a federal tax credit.

However, if you choose to lease, we anticipate Volkswagen will offer an EV lease bonus based on federal tax credits available at the time the credit is leased, although no final decision has been made at this time.

2024 VW ID Buzz Motor and Power

The new VW ID Buzz base model is equipped with a single, rear-mounted electric motor with a capacity of around 282 horsepower.

Along with this, the VW ID Buzz electric bus also introduced a dual-motor, all-wheel-drive configuration with around 330 horsepower.

2024 VW ID Buzz Range

The VW ID Buzz is designed with an 86 kWh battery pack, but Volkswagen hasn’t revealed the driving range yet.

Regarding the range of the 2024 VW ID Buzz, the automaker has said that at the moment we do not have any figures to share.

We expect the VW ID Buzz to have a range of at least 260 miles per charge, but VW does claim that those that plug into a DC fast charger can go from 10 to 80 percent in just 30 minutes.

2024 VW ID Buzz Exterior and Interior with Cargo

The length and width of the VW ID Buzz are almost the same as that of the Atlas Cross Sport. It is approximately 195” in length, 78” in width, and 75” in height. Its wheelbase is around 128” long.

The VW ID Buzz will be available in both RWD & AWD.

The VW ID Buzz features cavernous and configurable interiors as well as adjustable armrests in the front seats and is accompanied by tables that fold out through the backrests for the rear seat passengers.

There is also a removable center console between the front seats. VW ID Buzz featured three rows of seats with room for seven passengers, with a pair of second-row captain’s chairs available but the reduced capacity to six passengers.

The VW ID Buzz is also equipped with standard features such as a 10.0-inch digital gauge cluster, customizable ambient lighting, and a set of front seats with massage functions.
