Aaron Rodgers’ Tennessee purchase sparks Titans rumors

Can you imagine Aaron Rodgers teaming up with Titans running back Derrick Henry?

On Wednesday, a new report linked the Green Bay quarterback to Nashville, the home of the Tennessee Titans, amid uncertainty about his NFL future.

Rodgers purchased land in Franklin, Tenn., and is currently building a house in the Nashville suburb, according to Jared Stillman of 102.5 “The Game,” who said the reigning MVP would be “open” to joining the Titans.

Per the report, a separate source said that some of Rodgers’ current Packers teammates think there is no way the quarterback will return to Green Bay next season.

The news came after Rodgers sold his longtime California home last week for $5.13 million. He usually spends time at the West Coast property in the offseason, and his fiancée, actress Shailene Woodley, is often in Los Angeles for work.

Rodgers has yet to reveal his future football plans, but it is interesting that he would target the Nashville area as a potential home base.

After the Packers were eliminated from the postseason by the 49ers in the DIvisional Round, Rodgers said on “The Pat McAfee Show” last Tuesday that he will decide by the end of February or early March his plans for the 2022 season.

Rodgers, who turned 38 in December, has said he does not want to play for a rebuilding team, which the Packers could become if star receiver Davante Adams leaves Green Bay in free agency, beginning March 16.

On Sunday, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported that the Packers felt “confident” about the future after meeting with Rodgers, who spent “a few extra days” at the team facility “huddling” and “mapping out what’s next” with head coach Matt LaFleur.

Rodgers has spent his entire career in Green Bay after the Packers selected him with the 24th overall pick in the 2005 NFL Draft. He led Green Bay to a Super Bowl title in the 2010-11 season and hasn’t made a title appearance since.

Time will tell if Rodgers returns to the NFL for an 18th season.
