Britney Spears had a fan girl moment over 20 years ago when she met Mariah Carey, 54.

Recounting the moment in her memoir, The Woman In Me, the Hit Me Baby One More Time hitmaker wrote, ‘At an award show I knocked on [Mariah’s] dressing room door.’

Continuing, the 41-year-old princess of pop explained, ‘She opened it, and out poured the most beautiful, otherworldly light.’

Gushing about the All I Want For Christmas Is You diva, Britney added, ‘You know how people have ring lights? More than 20 years ago, only Mariah Carey knew about ring lights.’

The heartwarming memory follows unearthed interviews of both singing sensations praising each other over the years.

Back in 2021 for example, the We Belong Together singer shared her support for the Free Britney movement when she spoke to E! News.

‘I think everybody on this planet deserves to be free,’ she said.

‘What they did to [Britney], what I saw, was horrific,’ Mariah added.

Determined to help her fellow entertainer, Nick Cannon’s ex-wife reached out, via a mutual friend, to talk to Britney.

‘I wanted [Britney] to know, “Guess what? You’re not alone,”‘ the New York born beauty recounted.

The Crossroads actress has also shown her love for the queen of Christmas over the years, even sharing a cute Instagram post back in March where she revealed she once made a fake music video set to Mariah’s hit single Dreamlover.

‘My first pretend video was Dreamlover by Mariah Carey outside with my mom’s heels on while walking through a garden with an umbrella,’ the Toxic singer wrote in the caption for a throwback pic of herself as a 13-year-old.

In true Britney fashion, the Circus singer poked fun at herself by adding, ‘The [fake Dreamlover] video was the worst thing I have ever seen in my entire life!’

However, in another sweet tweet from 2020, the Lucky vocalist wished Mariah a happy birthday, crediting the Always Be My Baby singer for inspiring her love of singing.

‘Happy Birthday @MariahCarey !! You are one of the main reasons I started singing,’ the mother of two wrote.

Continuing her praise of the curvaceous singer and songwriter in her birthday tweet, Britney added ‘Your Butterfly album never gets old even after 20+ years … it’s simply a classic.’

She kindly added in the same tweet that she’d be blasting the Butterfly album at the gym, giving her fellow A-list vocalist friend’s album more of a shoutout.

The two vocal powerhouses first met each other at the 1999 MTV VMA awards.
