It’s the most wonderful time of the year and Dancing With the Stars’ dancer-turned-judge Derek Hough and his wife Julianne are kicking it off with a special performances at the most magical place on Earth.
The beloved DWTS stars have teamed up with Disney Parks this year to create two musical specials to reel in the holiday season. On Saturday Derek took to social media giving fans a special sneak peek look into ABC’s annual Disney holiday celebration shows.
The pro dancer shared a series of snaps from the festive special including incredible snapshots of him and Julianne mid-routine with candy canes held high in the air as they performed in front of Cinderella’s Castle at Disney World surrounded by sparkling purple fireworks. Derek captioned the post: “Let the festivities begin! Don’t miss #DisneyHolidayCelebration.”

The show-stopping musical releasing Sunday will be hosted by the talented Derek and Julianne and will also feature special dance routines by them to the classic Christmas tunes “It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas,” “What Christmas Means to Me” and “Dance to the Music” Medley. The upcoming special expected to be a great hit as it will be filled with unbeatable talent and filmed by the famous Sam Wrench, who also directed Taylor Swift’s newly released The Eras Tour concert film.
Fans took to the comments of Derek’s latest Instagram post sharing their excitement over the annual wintertime special. One fan wrote: “So excited to watch like years before!” And another agreed: “Can’t wait! Disney World’s my happy place.” And a third added: “Love your Christmas specials.”
The two specials, filmed in both Walt Disney World Resort in Florida and Disneyland Resort in California, will feature a number of specular musical acts, heartwarming family stories, and an inside look at what’s next for The Walt Disney Company. Some famous performers joining in the special alongside the Houghs include the Black Eyed Peas, Chloe Flower, Jordin Sparks, Ne-Yo, Meghan Trainor, among many more.
ABC’s “The Wonderful World of Disney: Magical Holiday Celebration,” releases Sunday, Nov. 26 (8:00-10:00 p.m. EST), and “Disney Parks Magical Christmas Day Parade,” releases Monday, Dec. 25 (10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. EST/9:00-11:00 a.m. PST).
