The Dancing With The Stars judges are mainly known for two things – dancing and critique.

However, one of this year’s panel stunned fans with a confession they featured in hit movie franchise Harry Potter. Prior to his dancing career, judge and professional dancing Derek Hough indeed featured on the wizardry movies alongside his sister Julianne.

In a bizarre Instagram upload, Derek amused his fans as he danced topless to a revamped musical skit of a Harry Potter scene. In the caption of the post he wrote: “Which is true? A: I’m in the first Harry Potter Movie. B: This is the deleted scene from it.”

Stunned fans were quick to take to the comments section to share their levels of astonishment at the revelation. One user wrote: “How did I not know both you and your sister were extras in this movie?”

Another was similarly shocked and said: “How am I only finding this information out now!?,” while a third gushed: “You ARE in the first Harry Potter movie but this would be incredible in the second one to open the chamber of secrets.”

Many others simply replied to say A was the correct answer, while others opened up on their wish that his dancing sketch would have made it into the iconic production.

While the news comes as a surprise for many, it’s far from the first time Derek has opened up on his short-lived acting experience as a schoolboy in Hogwarts in the 2001 flick. In 2017, he opened up to HuffPost about his role as a Ravenclaw in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone.

He said at the time: “The scene you could actually see me in in the movie is I was walking past, like, a hallway, and Hermione [Emma Watson] was walking this way [mimics action].”

The scene in question showed a chess scene between Harry (Danielle Radcliffe) and Ron (Rupert Grint). Derek admitted he tried his best to be noticed by the cameras by doing an over-the-top motion. “I was in the Great Hall,” he continued. “I was a Ravenclaw. I had the tie, I had the scarf, I had the robe, my patch. And, I stole it all.”

Jokingly saying he hoped his actions wouldn’t land him in trouble, he said he knew back then the items would be worth something one day. “I was like, ‘This is going to be worth something one day’ … And I took the silverware from the Great Hall, as well. I was a little thief.”
