The official announcement was made today that Aaron Rodgers and the New York Jets will be the featured team on HBO’s “Hard Knocks.” This, of course, has been the worst kept secret in the NFL for weeks. While no team was actively lobbying to be featured, the NFL can force any team that has not made the playoffs for two or more years onto the show.
Thus NFL fans will be entertained with the Jets training camp. The addition of Rodgers adds a huge level of intrigue, not just because he is one of the all-time great quarterbacks in the history of the NFL, but because of his unique personality. Over the years, Rodgers has made comments that have caused mainstream fans and people to do a doubletake.
These comments led to some rather humorous jokes on Twitter after the “Hard Knocks” announcement was made.

This season of “Hard Knocks” is certainly going to be interesting for many reasons. Rodgers is a very intelligent and interesting person. His sound bites are going to be profound, one way or another, which is exactly why the NFL wanted the Jets featured.
