Miley Cyrus just released her new song Flowers and fans think it sounds exactly like Bruno Mars’ When I Was Your Man.
This is the first new music the country singer has released in years and is from her 2023 album Endless Summer Vacation, which comes out on March 10.
The track is a hot topic of conversation online as fans speculate it’s about Miley’s ex-husband Liam Hemsworth, but this hasn’t been confirmed.

Miley Cyrus’ Flowers sounds like Bruno Mars track
Side-by-side videos have gone viral on TikTok that compare the 30-year-old’s new hit with Bruno Mars’ 2012 song, and the likeness is undeniable.
The American singer released I Was Your Man in 2012 as part of his second studio album, Unorthodox Jukebox.
In the love ballad, he sings about heartbreak, and the star once revealed to Rolling Stone it was about the fear of losing his girlfriend at the time, model Jessica Caban.
Bruno’s song goes like this: “I should have bought you flowers, And held your hand / Should have gave you all my hours, When I had the chance / Take you to every party ’cause all you wanted to do was dance / Now my baby’s dancing, But she’s dancing with another man.”
It sounds very familiar to Miley’s lyrics: “I can buy myself flowers, Write my name in the sand / Talk to myself for hours, Say things you don’t understand / I can take myself dancing, And I can hold my own hand / Yeah, I can love me better than you can.”

Fans think they’re so similar
“I knew it sounded like another song,” one fan said in the comments of the TikTok video.
Another wrote on Twitter: “First time hearing Miley’s Flowers and it instantly reminded me of Bruno’s When I Was Your Man in the chorus. Like seriously.”
“So if Bruno Mars’ ‘When I Was Your Man’ ever broke your heart, Miley Cyrus’ ‘Flowers’ will put it right back together. They are the same song, but opposite,” a third person added.
Someone else tweeted: “Ok what the heck is up with the chorus of Miley Cyrus’s new song ‘Flowers’ sounding so much like the chorus from Bruno Mars’ song ‘When I Was Your Man’.”

TikTok rumors debunked
Now, baseless rumors are flooding social media that Liam Hemsworth dedicated the Bruno Mars song to Miley, with doesn’t appear to be true.
The claims emerged after a TikTok video went viral which said: “I just found out Liam Hemsworth dedicated this song to Miley when they were engaged.”
It’s had over 13 million views, but Miley and Liam have never publicly said anything about the famous Bruno Mars song.
Others are saying Flowers is a response to Bruno’s 2012 track over a decade later, and the lyrics certainly do seem to echo the song.
However, Miley and Bruno never dated and don’t have any links, so there would be no reason for her to respond to When I Was Your Man.
