Miley’s New Year’s Eve Party was a New Year’s Eve TV special aired on both NBC and Peacock from 2021 to 2023.
It was produced by Saturday Night Live creator Lorne Michaels.
Cyrus effectively replaced The Voice host Carson Daly, who has fronted the NYE specials for NBC since 2004.
In Miley’s New Year’s Eve Party’s two-year run, she was paired with various co-hosts, first with Pete Davidson and then Dolly Parton.
The multi-hour special saw various performances from the music industry’s biggest names, including Sia, Latto, Jack Harlow, and Billie Joe Armstrong of Green Day.
In 2023, it drew in 5.3 million viewers.
Why is Miley Cyrus’ New Year’s special not on this year?
NBC has decided not to have a New Year’s Eve special to welcome 2024.
In lieu of Miley’s New Year’s Eve Party, it will instead air Sunday Night Football, which will see the Green Bay Packers and the Minnesota Vikings go head to head for a spot in the NFL playoffs.
It will start airing at 8:20 pm on NBC.

Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve
Starting at 8 pm on ABC, the popular NYE special and its world-famous ball drop will be broadcast from various places across the globe, including the usual Times Square in New York City, Las Vegas, Miami, Puerto Rico, and South Korea. Hosted by Ryan Seacrest, along with Rita Ora, Jeannie Mai, and Dayanara Torres, it will feature performances by Megan Thee Stallion, Tyla, Cardi B, Post Malone, Ellie Goulding, K-Pop girl band NewJeans, and more.
New Year’s Eve Live
The CNN show hosted by Andy Cohen and Anderson Cooper will begin airing at 8 pm on both CNN and CNN Max. The co-hosts are prohibited from consuming alcohol on live TV after their drunken shenanigans in the past, but the show will still have exciting performances by Maroon 5, the Jonas Brothers, Enrique Iglesias, Rod Stewart, and more, as well as interviews with the likes of Neil Patrick Harris and Jeremy Renner.
New Year’s Eve Live: Nashville’s Big Bash
Broadcasting live from Nashville, the CBS show will be aired in two parts: from 7:30 to 10 pm and 10:30 pm to 1:05 am on CBS and Paramount+. Co-hosted by Elle King and Rachel Smith, it will feature musical performers such as Morgan Wallen, Blake Shelton, Lainey Wilson, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and Kane Brown, among others.
A New Year with Tyrus
Fox News’ NYE special, which starts airing at 11 pm, will be hosted by pro wrestler Tyrus, along with Michelle Tafoya, Sean Duffy, Tyler Fischer, Ric Flair, and Zach Greig. In the hour prior, the network will also air the pre-taped special Who Can Forget 2023, which will cover some of the biggest stories of the year, including Barbenheimer, ChatGPT, and “the fight for Speaker of the House.”
