Chilling predictions for 2024 according to Nostradamus, Baba Vanga and Old Moore

The doom-mongers may not always get it right (I’m looking at you, ancient Mayan ‘prophecy’ of the world ending on December 2012 ). But when they get it right, it gives you chills (Old Moore predicted a submarine drama in 2023).

Either way, we are biologically primed to prick our ears towards all manner of end-of-days predictions.

Naturally, in this age of nuclear power, volatile geopolitical interactions and climate change warnings, alarmist sentiments about the apocalypse may not ever be too far off the mark.

So it’s no surprise that in between binging on Netflix, picking up ‘the few bits’ in Dunnes and scrolling on Instagram, many of us are keen to get a heads-up on what 2024 might have in store for us.

We’ve rounded up what renowned astrologers, seers and prophets have claimed to map out for the year ahead. Among the most famous of these are Nostradamus, Old Moore, and Baba Vanga.

Nostradamus

14th century plague doctor, astrologer and seer, Nostradamus was also known as the ‘Prophet of Doom’ so maybe don’t expect too much joy here.

His book, Les Prophéties, was published in 1555 and is filled with wars, natural disasters, assassinations, nuclear attacks, and revolutions.

First of all, in his preface to the Prophecies, Nostradamus himself stated that his prophecies extend “from now to the year 3797” so the imminent ‘end of the world’ is probably not an accurate interpretation of anything he foretells.

How did he do for 2023?

  • “Like the sun the head shall sear the shining sea: The Black Sea’s living fish shall all but boil.”

Climate crisis warning? He’s not wrong.

  • “Celestial fire on the royal edifice.”

Of course, mention of royals often gets us thinking of Ireland’s nearest neighbours, but Nostradamus may not have been thinking of the British royal family. This could have meant all non-democratic systems of power or could literally mean Buckingham Palace needs extra smoke alarms.

  • “Seven months great war, people dead through evil.”

The war with Ukraine has gone on for a lot longer than seven months but this could signify the conflict in the Middle East which means there might be an end in sight?

  • “The antichrist very soon annihilates the three. Twenty-seven years his war will last. The unbelievers are dead, captive, exiled. With blood, human bodies, water and red hail covering the earth.”

Someone please pass Nostradamus a stiff drink.

What’s coming in 2024 according to Nostradamus?

  • “The dry earth will grow more parched” he predicts in one quatrain, “and there will be great floods.”

If these visions are accurate we are in for even more calamitous climate events in 2024 than we’ve experienced.

  • “Combat and naval battle. Red adversary will become pale with fear/putting the great Ocean in dread”

Many interpret this as a confrontation with China and NATO perhaps. However, this genius believes it’s again a reference to climate change and that the Red in this case might signify the sun and a global event that might see some kind of haze cast over it.

  • “King of the Isles” who has a controversial divorce “driven out by force” and who is replaced by “one who will have no mark of a king”.

Some believe this refers to King Charles and prodigal son Harry. Expect some kind of tumult involving the new king.

  • “Through the death of the very old Pontiff/A Roman of good age will be elected” he writes.

Old Popes seems like an easy one to predict, but interestingly he describes this new vigorous Pope as someone who will “weaken his see”. Not everything has to be doom and gloom though, perhaps this means new and progressive changes might dominate new church rules.

Let’s see what Old Moore has to say about 2024.

Old Moore’s Almanac

This is an almanac founded by Theophilus Moore and has been published for nearly two and a half centuries. Moore was a teacher of Irish, English, Greek and Latin. He became known as a clever mathematician and a wizard of astrology, with the nickname ‘The Irish Merlin’.

How were the Old Moore predictions for 2023?

Most impressively Old Moore referred to a submarine drama which might give you shivers given the tragedy involving OceanGate’s Titan submersible which imploded earlier this summer.

He said Trump would have a health scare involving the brain (The former US president was recently was accused of being increasingly confused after mixing up Obama and Biden’s names).

There would be an alien sighting.

Old Moore’s predictions for 2024 include:

An assassination warning for Trump.

The end of cash.

The end of roads.

A massive earthquake that extends across multiple borders.

Given the rise of Bitcoin and the divisiveness that Donald Trump often brings, none of these seem particularly ‘out there’ in terms of what may occur.

Baba Vanga

Vangelia Gushterova was born in what was then known as Yugoslavia. When she was 12, she lost her eyesight during a storm when she was tossed into the air and thrown to the ground by a powerful gust of wind. Her family found her close to death several days later. She said she had experienced her first vision during the days she was missing. Baba Vanga (Grandmother Vanga) died at age 85 in 1996 and was known as the Nostradamus from the Balkans.

What did she predict for 2023?

Doctors will perform biological weapons tests that will lead to the deaths of many people.

A star will explode, lighting up the sky for five years.

Aliens will attack earth and we won’t have electricity for three days and three nights Nuclear explosions

A dangerous virus will affect birds

While we haven’t yet seen exploding stars or alien attacks (THAT WE KNOW OF THAT IS!), there’s still a month left in the year. But bear in mind that she has made predictions for years ahead up until 5079, so while things might look bad, it’s not end-of-days bad, according to Baba Vanga

What’s coming in 2024 according to Baba Vanga?

2024 will see significant progress in the development of quantum computers that will revolutionize the field of technology, if you are to believe Vanga’s predictions. These computers will be capable of performing complex calculations and data analysis at unprecedented speeds.

Rising economic tension is on the cards for the year ahead too apparently. Baba predicted that as a shift in economic power moves from West to East and increasing geopolitical divisions could see our economics affected.

There will be a rise in cyber attacks on critical infrastructure such as power grids and water treatment plants.

She predicts a miracle cure for cancer is just months away and that Putin will be assassinated, which is interesting given the Kremlin had to issue a statement clarifying that the Russian leader hadn’t died.

A “mighty dragon” is due to take over the planet, if you believe what Vanga predicts, and three giants – possibly Russia, China and India – will unite. Another 2024 gem to look forward to. Happy New Year!
