Robert Kardashian was an American attorney and businessman who shot to fame as he stood by American football star OJ Simpson during his 1995 murder trial.

Kardashian is now also known for being the ex-husband of Kris Jenner and father to Kim, Kourtney, Khloe, and Rob who are all-stars of Keeping Up With The Kardashians.

Robert was born in 1944 in Los Angeles where he studied business and law at the University of Southern California.

A born-again Christian, Kardashian was later involved in a number of enterprises including a frozen yogurt company, magazine Radio & Records, and music company Movie Tunes and according to Celebrity Net Worth at the time of his death in 2003, he had a net worth of $30million.

The following day a warrant was issued for OJ’s arrest and as he flew back to Los Angeles from Chicago, Robert was by his side.

The attorney-turned businessman was carrying Simpson’s bulging Louis Vuitton bag and cops later asked him about the contents, but Kardashian said he had never looked inside.

Following the murders, Simpson hid out at Robert’s house amid huge media interest, and when he went on the run, cops took off on a 60-mile car chase.

Robert became a volunteer assistant on Simpson’s legal team – dubbed the “dream team” – alongside Robert Shapiro and Johnnie Cochran.

The football player was acquitted of the murders by a jury at 10am on October 3, 1995, and in post-trial interviews with the jurors, a few said they believed he did commit the murders but said the prosecution had failed to prove their case.

In 1996 Robert was reportedly questioned about his friend’s innocence, telling Barbara Walters “I have doubts”.
