The most adored passer of the Kansas City Chiefs loves the city with all of his heart. Patrick Mahomes, the young Super Bowl-winning QB, has always expressed his love and respect for Kansas City. In fact, he bought a beautiful 1950s ranch-style house to show his commitment to the city. Mahomes, a regular in the town, announced in an interview something pleasant for the fans to know.
In a Bleacher Report video, the 26-year-old lineman and his soccer player wife, Brittany Matthews, gave a fun interview. They talked about the new house they bought for the growing family. And also gave a sneak peek into the calming and peaceful space where they spend their days.
While Patrick Mahomes shared the importance of owning their own personal space, he let out a piece of exciting news that would make any fan elated! He said, “Setting down roots in Kansas City was huge for us. I think the people are what we love the most about Kansas City. I mean, they have such a passion for the community. The food. The football team. They treat us, I mean, we’ve been here our own entire life. We’re tryin’ to be here for a long, long time. That was the biggest thing of getting the house is we plan on being here for 20-years plus.”
It looks like the $503 million extension deal for 10 years with the Kansas City Chiefs will only extend in the future!
Why does Patrick Mahomes love Kansas City so much?
When he was growing up, Mahomes saw his father, the MLB star, Pat Mahomes, pitch for the New York Mets. However, the sight was not always a sore one. Whenever the New York pitcher played badly, the crowd would boo him. Incidents like these stay with a young child. “He started pitching badly, and right away when he got in the game, he started getting booed,” Mahomes said. “I got to see that firsthand as a young kid.”

Hence, Kansas City, being anti-New York, suited him the best. It also seems like the elite shot caller will play almost his entire career for the Chiefs. Also, Mahomes loves playing under the guidance of Andy Reid and his other teammates.
Another positive aspect of the town is that, although the town is passionate about football, the citizens do not pester athletes if they lose any game. Because they understand and value the mental state of the players.
