Plies is feeling lucky and has subliminally attempted to woo Britney Spears following reports of her split from husband Sam Asghari.
The “Bust It Baby, Pt. 2” rapper posted a video on social media on Thursday (August 17) of him singing along to Britney’s 1998 breakout hit “…Baby One More Time,” shortly after it was revealed she and Asghari are getting divorced.
“Baby One More Time…… Send Me A Sign Baby,” Plies captioned the clip, which showed him laughing and grinning from ear-to-ear while in the driver’s seat of his car.
“Oh, baby, baby! How was I supposed to know, baby?! Show me how you want it to be, baby!” he sang suggestively. “I know it’s killing me, baby!”
Plies’ followers had plenty to say about him seemingly celebrating Britney’s divorce, with many of them suggesting he’s hoping for his chance with the pop star now that she’s newly single.
“We all thought of you when they broke up,” one person wrote in the comments section, while another chimed in: “Lmfaoooo ight Sam gonna come lookin for you!”
This is far from the first time that Plies has spoken about Britney Spears. Last week, he went viral for weighing in on Spears’ dance moves when she posted a video of herself wearing a leopard-print bikini and gyrating on a stripper pole.
“There she go!” he screamed in a video shared on social media. “Wahoo! There she go! Oh ho! That muthafucka look like Diamond from The Players Club! Look!”
Plies was referring to LisaRay McCoy’s character in the classic 1998 film starring Jamie Foxx and Bernie Mac.
He continued: “My white Diamond! Come on, white Diamond! Whoo hoo! Throw that little pwussy! Throw that little pwussy, Brit! Brit! You know what I’m waitin’ on, Brit! Brit! Go to pound town, Brit!”
While reports of Britney Spears and Sam Asghari’s divorce emerged on Wednesday (August 16), the couple reportedly listed their date of separation with the state of California as July 28.
Asghari and Spears got married 14 months ago in June 2022. He is reportedly seeking spousal support and for the “Oops!… I Did It Again” singer to cover his legal fees. Asghari cited irreconcilable differences as the reason behind the split.
