Charleston, South Carolina is known for Rainbow Row and good Southern food, and there’s something else that people associate with this city: the Bravo reality series Southern Charm. Over seven seasons, fans have gotten to know the major cast members, along with their friends and love interests, and there’s always enough drama to make it impossible to wait patiently for the next episode.

There are many fan theories about the events on Southern Charm and like on many other reality shows, viewers have their favorite cast members. While some are loveable and charming, others bring a bit too much drama.

Kathryn Dennis

Kathryn Dennis has been on Southern Charm since the beginning, and fans remember watching her fall in love with Thomas Ravenal. The couple shares two children but they aren’t together anymore, though there continues to be drama surrounding them.

Kathryn is someone whom people are used to seeing on reality TV: she’s tough, speaks her mind, and is quick to get angry. She isn’t the most likable cast member as she often has beef with other co-stars, like when she said that Cameran’s husband was having an affair. In the most recent season, Kathryn faced a scandal as she sent a monkey emoji to a Black woman. She said she didn’t know that was offensive, but it’s hard to root for someone who would behave that way.

Austen Kroll

Madison and Austen aren’t together anymore, and fans are very familiar with the conflict that these two had, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic as they spent time apart.

On the one hand, Austen cares about his friends and seems like a nice enough person. On the other, he prioritizes partying and it’s hard not to sympathize with Madison when she says that Austen needs to apply himself and figure out what he wants. Fans have seen Austen come out with his own beer, and while it’s nice to see him realize a dream, fans want to see a bit more maturity.

John Pringle

John is a newcomer on season 7 of Southern Charm and it’s fair to say that viewers don’t feel they have gotten to know him too well. He’s just not as memorable as some other cast members.

John is a great father and it was sweet seeing him take care of his kids, but he didn’t seem to have much of a place on the show besides having a crush on Madison. When compared to the other cast members, he’s not as likable because fans want to know more about him. Maybe if Southern Charm returns for a season 8, he will get more of a story arc and there will be more to say about him.

Craig Conover

Craig has been a Southern Charm cast member since the start, and he has been on quite the journey. Fans recall his serious relationship with former cast member Naomie, the debate about whether he took the bar exam, and his sewing hobby.

Craig has flourished in recent years as he started his own pillow business and has moved on from Naomie. While some parts of him are likable, as there’s no question that he’s a caring friend, it sometimes seems like he would rather party than work hard. When season 7 featured the COVID-19 pandemic, he was hesitant to take it seriously at first.

Shep Rose

While some reality shows about dating are awkward, Shep got the chance to star on his own, RelationShep, which showed how charming and likable he is.

Although Shep comes from an affluent background and has had a lot of things handed to him, there’s something special about him that viewers love. He became more likable this season as he finally started dating someone whom he cared about and he called her his girlfriend. While that relationship did have conflict, it was nice to see Shep growing up. He’s a loyal friend and tries to hold the friend group together, which is not an easy feat when there is often drama and fighting.

Madison LeCroy

Madison has been the subject of many memes recently and fans have been following all of the conflicts between her and her now ex-boyfriend, Austen.

Madison is smart, strong, and independent, and in season 7, fans got to see a few scenes of her and her adorable son. She owns a hair salon in Charleston and knows that she deserves a partner who cares about her and treats her well. She is one of the most well-liked cast members on this Bravo reality show, and fans are rooting for her, but her fights with Austen seem a little immature sometimes.

Leva Bonaparte

Fans were introduced to Leva in season 7 and have enjoyed getting to know her and see some of her daily life.

Leva and her husband own several bars and restaurants in Charleston, and they’re also raising their sweet son, Lamar Jr. Leva has been an important part of the cast as she spent much of the season talking about racial injustice and trying to get Kathryn to see why her monkey emoji was so hurtful and offensive. Leva adds a crucial voice to the show. Since it’s set in the South, there is a lot of difficult history there, and it’s important that the series is now talking about the past and the future.

Whitney Sudler-Smith

Whitney is another OG cast member on Southern Charm and a staple in the main friend group on the show.

Whitney has grown up with his sophisticated mother Patricia, but he’s also got a cool rock-and-roll sensibility, as he marches to the beat of his own drum. He loves his friends and just wants everyone to be happy. He’s pretty non-judgemental and tries to stay out of the drama, which can be tough in this social circle — but it’s refreshing that he tries.

Patricia Altschul

Southern Charm has featured many fabulous and dramatic dinner parties and those typically take place at Patricia’s beautiful mansion.

Patricia is the second-most likable cast member on Southern Charm. She’s often a voice of reason as she loves to invite people over for cocktails and give them love and life advice, but she also enjoys going through a fast-food drive-thru. She’s both elegant and relatable, and fans will always want to see her in as many scenes as possible. Patricia lives a fabulous life and seems so wise.

Cameran Eubanks Wimberly

Cameran quit the show before season 7 and she is definitely missed. She is still a fan favorite and for many people, she was the best part of the series.

Whether wanting Craig and Shep to get their lives together or musing about having a child, Cam was always intelligent, warm, and hilarious. She could make any party or gathering fun, but she could also have a serious conversation. Many fans appreciate that Cam was super honest about her uncertainty about having a child, and she openly shared her pregnancy and early days of motherhood on the series.
