It is said that talent attracts talent, and hence, unsurprisingly, many athletes and legends are close friends. Tiger Woods was also quite close to former NBA superstar, Charles Barkley. Such friendships often provide the fans with many interesting moments. Woods and Charles’ moment came when Tiger Woods hilariously went on to make fun of Charles Barkley’s golf swing.

Barkley and Woods go way back. Back in 2007, when popped collared tee shirts were the go-to fashion and Wiis were the trending gaming console, Woods was featured in a hilarious video. In the viral video, Tiger Woods said, “This is my attempt at impersonating Charles Barkley.” He then goes on to do the famous Barkley swing. where the swing begins, and then mid-swing the golfer pauses, bends his back, and then continues the swing again. It looks absolutely funny, and Barkley was often laughed at for this swing.

This wasn’t the only time Tiger went on to hilariously call out Barkley’s swing. Even earlier in 2004, Woods was on The Late Night Show with Conan O’Brien to promote EA and Tiger’s new golf game. At one point, Conan brought up how Tiger could analyze someone’s swing since he was only 5 years old.

The host then went on to play a video of Charles Barkley swinging his club, but not before the tiger warned him, saying, “It [Charles’ swing] might hurt their eyes.” The duo laughed after the video, and Tiger even compared his swing to a “speech impediment.”

Tiger and Barkley’s relationship takes a turn

In 2009, Tiger’s personal life took a turn for the worse. Tiger was having a very public and messy problem with his marriage. As per Barkley, Woods hadn’t spoken to him since that year. The NBA star said he had absolutely no idea what went down or why Woods never spoke to him. He said in an interview in 2017, “To this day, I don’t have any idea what happened.”

Woods had allegedly just cut ties without ever talking to him. “After that … thing, he just stopped talking to us. That’s all I know,” he said, referring to both himself and Michael Jordan. Barkley was upset since the three shared a close friendship. He claimed it would’ve been better if Woods had at least spoken to them and said, “To just disappear totally was disappointing.”
