How Many Super Bowls Has Patrick Mahomes Won?

Super Bowl 57 featured two star-studded teams: the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles. With that though, there was not an individual with more to gain with a win than Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes. Arguably the most talented quarterback to ever play football, Mahomes has established his dominance and cemented himself within the greats of the league quickly since joining the Chiefs.

Let’s take a look at Mahomes’ accomplishments thus far, including his playoff performances and how many Super Bowls he’s won. The 27-year-old will only continue to bolster his résumé in coming years as the Chiefs are establishing a dynasty as a Super Bowl contender for years to come.

How Many Super Bowls Has Patrick Mahomes Been to and Won?

Mahomes has been to three Super Bowls in his career, now winning two of them. His first Super Bowl appearance came in his third year (but only his second season as the starter). In his 2019 season, Mahomes led the Chiefs to a 31-20 victory against the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl 54.

En route to Super Bowl 54, Mahomes led a massive comeback from 24 points down in the second quarter to the Houston Texans — which led to the Chiefs prevailing 51-31. They would then go on and advance to the Super Bowl by comfortably defeating the Titans 35-24 before facing the 49ers.

His 2019 campaign had some statistical downturn from his magical debut season as a starter, but the team was overall more effective.

The Chiefs finished 12-4 with the league’s fifth-highest-scoring offense in the regular season. Mahomes threw for 4,031 yards and 26 touchdowns while completing almost 66% of his passes. He did this while also missing two games.

He led the Chiefs to a return trip to the Super Bowl in 2020 after the team finished with the AFC’s No. 1 overall seed and a 14-2 record. The Chiefs were defeated in a 31-9 blowout by Tom Brady’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Despite their high-powered offense, the Chiefs’ offense was overwhelmed by the Buccaneers’ powerful pass rush throughout the contest and ultimately came up short as a result.

Mahomes was unable to produce his usual greatness against the Buccaneers, completing only 26 passes on 49 attempts for 270 yards and two interceptions, and without a heroic performance from the young quarterback, the game went largely uncompetitive en route to another Brady Super Bowl victory.

Super Bowl 57 against the Eagles was Mahomes’ third trip to the Super Bowl thus far in his career. Mahomes defeated the Philadelphia Eagles 38-35 to win the second Super Bowl of his young career and the win has now catapulted Mahomes into the conversation with many of games greats.

Mahomes is far from finished, but his career trajectory already has league historians talking about his impact and what it could look like when it is all said and done.
